A Family House in the Heart of Grande Champagne

The Gilles Brisson estate is a family-owned house located in Châteaubernard, in the heart of the Grande Champagne – 1st Cru of Cognac, renowned for producing the finest and most elegant eaux-de-vie in the region.

For several generations, the Brisson family has cultivated its vineyards and carefully crafted its cognacs, managing all stages of production on the family estate. Today, Cyril Brisson, supported by the new generation, continues this artisanal expertise passed down from father to son.

A Grand Cru Terroir – 100% Grande Champagne

The family vineyard covers approximately 65 hectares, much of which is planted with Ugni Blanc, the emblematic grape variety of Cognac.

Located in the Grande Champagne appellation, this clay-limestone terroir gives the eaux-de-vie great finesse, aromatic complexity, and excellent aging potential, characteristics highly sought after by enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

Traditional Distillation & Aging

Distillation is carried out using the traditional method in Charentais copper stills, keeping only the “heart of the run,” the best part of the distillate.

The eaux-de-vie are then aged for extended periods in French oak barrels in the family cellars, often well beyond the legal minimums, to develop richness, smoothness, and aromatic complexity.

A Refined Range of Grande Champagne Cognacs

The house offers a beautiful range of expressions, all from the sole Grande Champagne terroir, including VS, VSOP, Napoléon, and XO, each carefully aged to achieve balance and aromatic depth.

For example:

• VS – a young, fresh, and balanced cognac.
• VSOP – increased complexity after several years in barrels.
• Napoléon – a more mature and rounded blend with notes of candied fruits.
• XO – aged over 20 years, rich, deep, and elegant.
