Domain History:

The estate began in 1860 when Raymond Ragnaud's family fell in love with a small vineyard in Grande Champagne, renowned for its exceptional brandies. In 1920, Paul Ragnaud took over the estate at Château d'Ambleville, later passing the property to his son Raymond in 1941. Raymond then decided to market the precious inherited brandies. In 1963, with the help of their children Françoise and Jean-Marie, Raymond's wife contributed to shaping the future of the estate, which now spans 47 hectares spread across three distinct vineyards - Ambleville, Criteuil, and Lignières-Sonneville - all located on the slopes of Grande Champagne, renowned for its brandies of unparalleled finesse. For three decades, Françoise Ragnaud-Bricq has continued the tradition by overseeing the harvest with meticulous attention and unmatched experience.

Presentation of the blend:

The house of Raymond Ragnaud offers an exceptional collection of vintages ranging from 1990 to 2006. To preserve their authenticity, no caramel, wood, or sugar is added. A slight reduction with distilled water is barely carried out, without pressure filtration or cooling. Like all cognacs from the house of Raymond Ragnaud, this 2002 vintage is made from grapes exclusively cultivated in Grande Champagne. It is a sumptuous blend of brandies from the 2002 harvest. The bottle adopts a classic and traditional format, while a detailed label regarding the product will appeal to connoisseurs. This 2002 vintage has a beautiful amber color. The nose reveals aromas of nuts, almonds, cereals, and spicy nuances. The fruity notes of baked apple, pear, and dried apricots delicately intertwine, with a slight hint of chocolate and coffee. On the palate, there are savory flavors of fruitcake and dried fruits. A subtle touch of orange peel and mandarin brings vivacity and freshness, complemented by notes of nuts, almonds, and brioche for a complex balance. The dry and long finish, dominated by citrus, vanilla, and spices, makes this cognac a lively and elegant digestif.
