Presentation of the estate:
The vineyard is ideally situated: 28 hectares in Grande Champagne, 1er Cru du Cognac, located in the communes of Verrières and Ambleville, in the south-western part of Grande Champagne (the most famous part of this cru due to the very special nature of its subsoil).
Soil type: Terre de Champagne. Terre de Champagne is a clay-limestone soil, with a subsoil of soft limestone.
Michel Gillet, the world's greatest Cognac collector, appreciates this aspect of the soil and considers François Voyer cognacs to be "not necessarily among the best known, but certainly one of the very best".
Presentation of the cuvée :
This blend of 10- to 25-year-old eaux-de-vie was first aged in new Limousin oak barrels for 3 years, then in older barrels.
Palate: A great delicacy, marked by its supple yet powerful woody notes, one of the major characteristics of 1er Cru.
Aromas: Beautiful fruit notes: peach, plum.
Long ageing has given this Cognac its vanilla fragrance and the balance between fruit, emerging spices and wood that characterize old Cognacs.
