Visit Belle de Brillet - The elegance of pear and cognac expertise
During our visit to Maison Belle de Brillet, we discovered a unique savoir-faire combining cognac and Williams pears. Between a warm welcome, immersion in the estate, and a refined tasting, this encounter with a committed producer won us over. An unforgettable moment that we share with you in this article.
At Cognac Only, we love to meet the producers we represent in our store. So it was with great enthusiasm that we traveled to Graves-Saint-Amant, in Charente, to visit Maison Belle de Brillet. A moment full of discoveries, sharing, and tastings.
A warm welcome in a preserved setting
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly and simply welcomed by the team at the Maison. Located on the Aireaux estate, just steps from the Charente River, the property exudes tradition and respect for the terroir. You feel right at home instantly.
The visit begins with an immersion into the history of the Brillet family, rooted in the region for several generations. The creation of the famous Belle de Brillet pear-cognac liqueur takes on its full meaning here: an alchemy of tradition, innovation, and passion.

The secret of Belle de Brillet: 18 pears per bottle
![]() |
What makes Belle de Brillet so unique is the subtle blend of in-house distilled cognac and Williams pears grown in Anjou. Each bottle contains the equivalent of 18 fresh pears, hand-picked at perfect ripeness. The pear is distilled in a copper still, then blended with carefully aged cognac. The result: a golden-colored liqueur, with an expressive nose and a smooth, round palate, appealing to both connoisseurs and newcomers. |
Tasting and cocktail workshop: a sensory experience
After the tour of the estate and production facilities, we had the chance to take part in a guided tasting. Belle de Brillet shines on the rocks, but also in fresh, easy-to-make cocktails. The mixology workshop offered on-site allowed us to explore original recipes — a real bonus to discover the product in a new way.
