Presentation of the domain :
The Frapin family has been established in the South West of France since 1270, initially as a family wine-growers. Then they becam distillers and have continued in this tradition for 20 generations. They established their headquarters in the Fontpinot Castle at Segonzac.
Today the Frapin estate covers 300 hectares entirely in Grande Champagne, officially listed as Premier Cru de Cognac, of which 200 hectares are planted with the "Ugni-Blanc" grape variety.
The Frapin estate has crumbly, chalky soil, which is identical to the soil in Reims, hence the appellation "Grande Champagne".
Presentation of the vintage :A true quintessence of the expertise of the Maîtres de Chai who have built the House's reputation. Plume Frapin is a cognac made from a blend of some twenty eaux-de-vie from the 240 hectares of Frapin vineyards. This very old Grande Champagne has been patiently aged for several decades in century-old barrels stored in the "Pierre Frapin" Chai Paradis humide, enhancing the roundness of this ancestral cuvée. The bottle is adorned with a 24-carat yellow gold cork and feathers.
COLOR: a beautiful orange-brown color.
NOSE: powerful, complex bouquet. Fruity notes of dried apricot, fig, orange, licorice, tobacco and cigar-box notes appear on aeration.
ON THE MOUTH: woody notes, prunes and candied fruit. The Rancio is developed and the length exceptional. Tasting is extremely evolutionary.
