Presentation of the domain:
In 1702, Jacques distils his first harvest in Biard domain which marks the birth of a long family history.
Nowadays, domain is located in Segonzac in the earth of the Grande Champagne 1st cru extends to a bit less than 10 hectares of vines. Vineyard has a unique soil combines with an extraordinary know-how handed down from generation to generation.
Distillation is made at family house by two copper pot stills of 18 and 25 hectoliters which are part of the last made by hand in the region. Distillery provides extremely fine and aromatic eau-de-vie. Becoming less and less usual in the area, Pierre de Segonzac continues to cut distillation manually by nose to obtain a unique taste on each process.
Presentation of the vintage:
For some connoisseur, this is one of the jewels of the region. Outstanding cognac. Base used on this blend earn top prize of the Grande Champagne Competition in 1988. Blend of beaux-de-vie distilled by André and Abel; father and grandfather of Pierre de Segonzac. Distilled in the heart of the cognac region during last century, this very old and rare cognac has been aged for a long time.
An exceptional cognac, intense aromatic complexity wood and «rancio» mingle with excellence. It has a very subtle nose and melts a wonderful balance between aromas of nuts, narcissus, cocoa, spices and candied fruit, old port, leather and cigar box. Extreme persistence. A Grande Champagne at its best.
A very persistent length of more than 30 minutes. A delight.
