Description of the estate :
Maison Bourgoin is a family estate that has carried the Bourgoin name since 1930. Located on the borders of the Cognac and Angoumois regions, in the village of Tarsac, in the commune of Saint-Saturnin (Charente), the estate comprises 90 hectares of vines.
Maëlys Bourgoin and her brother Frédéric offer unblended, unfiltered, colorant-free, sugar-free cognacs. Batches are segregated by vintage, terroir and barrel. Old vintages are sold unreduced. Reductions are always made with rainwater to optimize aromatic lift. Sub-strains are carried out at new moon and by gravity. Bottling is done by hand on the estate.
Discover genuine, sincere and authentic winegrower's cognacs. With the Bourgoin family, there's no need for long speeches: the truth lies at the bottom of the bottle. You'll find the emotion of a great cognac.
Description of the cuvée :
An audacious cognac that overturns codes! The innovation consists in wetting the cognac with a little sea water during ageing to reduce it to 45% vol. An iodized nod to the great days of the merchant navy! A reverie of long-distance voyages, when sea spray mingled with cognac at the whim of the weather.
Aromas of salted butter caramel (toffee), incredible sapidity and an unprecedented length on the palate.
