Cognac Bertrand Heritage

Presentation of the domain:

In the heart of one of the two premier growing regions of Cognac which make up the Petite Fine Champagne, the Bertrand family has passed down from generation to generation, since 1731, the art of cultivating the vines. The nature and authenticity of past traditions are reflected in each of our products.

Our trademark, the Windmill of Bel'Air, the last of the town of Reaux, is surrounded by our vines, symbolic of our history, our heritage and the quality of our cognacs.

Situated in one of the two premier growing regions of cognac, "Petite Fine Champagne", our 75 hectares of vineyards extend over a landscape with abundant limestone which regulates water and protects the vines from drought. Our principal crop is Ugni Blanc, followed by Colombard. The high limestone content on the hill of Fief Monte and the Bel'Air windmill ensures a limited production from the vines, but of superior quality.

Presentation of the vintage:

This cognac was distilled on lees in small 8 hectoliters stills heated by wood before being aged in old barrels.

A unique batch that perfectly represents the rancio, a characteristic aroma from the greatest eaux-de-vie. Naturally reduced, this cognac is unfiltered and without any added input.

The generosity of the Bertrand family is reflected in this single batch series, which is limited to 500 copies.
