Richard Hennessy founded Maison Hennessy in 1765 with a bold vision: to create the world’s finest cognacs. His dream continues in everything Hennessy stands for: quality and creativity. 

Hennessy cognac starts to become more and more popular in the United States, a country that had gained its independance just 18 years before.

The Prince of Wales, later King George IV of Great Britain, was a great connoisseur of cognac. He asked Hennessy to create a "very superior old pale cognac." Since then the initials V.S.O.P - Very Superior Old Pale - have been used as a benchmark for the entire industry. Besides Maurice Hennessy created the X.O (Extra Old) classification of Cognac. Originally for family and friends, it is today a worldwide reference for cognacs.

The  iconic fist clutching a hatchet refers to founder Richard Hennessy's 12-year army career with the French, earning him French citizenship.

Presentation of the blend:

Hennessy X.X.O was first created in 1870 alongside Hennessy x.o, when the master blender Emile Fillioux set aside eaux-de-vie with great potential. Hennessy x.x.o was such a significant find that it has been launched around the world since 1871. Drawing on the savoir-faire inherited by his family and a five-decade career at Maison Hennessy, Yann Fillioux, 7th generation of master blender, decided to re-create Hennessy x.x.o in 2017. From eaux-de-vie with great potential.

On the nose: bitter orange, freshly grated nutmeg, dried peppermint leaf. On the palate: wonderful persistence and delightful nuance of spice complexity.
