Presentation of the estate :
This estate has been in operation since the late 19th century. In 1934, Jacques-Guy Painturaud (the second generation) decided to market his own Cognacs and Pineaux des Charentes under his own name, to distinguish himself from the major trading houses. He was also one of the first winegrowers in the appellation to market Pineau des Charentes.
He was succeeded by his son Jacques. Today, Jacques Painturaud has handed over to two of his four sons, Jean-Philippe and Emmanuel, who carry on the family tradition.
The entire vineyard (23 hectares) is located in SEGONZAC, in the heart of the "Grande Champagne" region.
Presentation of the cuvée:
The Vieux Pineau Rosé from Maison Painturaud Frères is aged in oak barrels in their cellars in Segonzac for a dozen years. Its color, paler than our young Pineau Rosé, is tiled/ruby. Quite atypical, its elegant, complex nose reveals aromas of cherry and candied orange.
The palate is well-balanced and fine.
