Presentation of the domain :
The House TIFFON is a picturesque story. Médéric Tiffon established the House Tiffon in the city of Jarnac in 1875.
Sverre Braastad, been born on July 10th, 1879 to Gjovik in Norway, emigrated in Jarnac in the age of 20 years, when his uncle Halfdan Braastad was a financial director at the house BISQUIT. Sverre entered it as sales manager.
He met Edith Rousseau, girl of the founder of the rival House TIFFON of the opposite bank. The marriage will be celebrated on November 27th, 1913, they will have eight children; five boys and three girls.
After the first World War, Sverre Braastad resigned from the House BISQUIT to take over the family company, on November 6th, 1919.
The house TIFFON is managed by the son, Robert, and the grandchildren of Sverre Braastad today: Antoine, Richard and Jan. The Cognac is a tradition, and the family pursues the exploitation, cultivating the vineyard, producing the wine and distilling its own Cognac.
Cognac TIFFON is an owner of a 40 hectare vineyard, compound of vines Ugni Blanc, Saint-Emilion and Colombard, a part of which is situated in Big Champagne and another part situated in Fins Bois.
Presentation of the vintage :
This well-matured cognac has primary notes of dry apricots and ripe plum.
Hints of walnut and light spices give it great force and a delicate finish with the flavor of rancio.
