Presentation of the domain:
In 1702, Jacques distils his first harvest in Biard domain which marks the birth of a long family history.
Nowadays, domain is located in Segonzac in the earth of the Grande Champagne 1st cru extends to a bit less than 10 hectares of vines. Vineyard has a unique soil combines with an extraordinary know-how handed down from generation to generation.
Distillation is made at family house by two copper pot stills of 18 and 25 hectoliters which are part of the last made by hand in the region. Distillery provides extremely fine and aromatic eau-de-vie. Becoming less and less usual in the area, Pierre de Segonzac continues to cut distillation manually by nose to obtain a unique taste on each process.
Presentation of the vintage:
Beautiful deep mahogany color.
Round and persistent, this Cognac is named from the part which evaporates each year from the barrels, manages to marry first and woody notes of the « rancio » typical old Grande Champagne cognacs.
Aromas of fig, apricot and jasmine, quince and walnuts, toasty, chocolate notes on the finish. Endless finish. Ranked 9/10 by Mac A Andrew.
Gold medal in the International Competition of the wines and spirits of Bordeaux 2015
