Presentation of the domain :
The Frapin family has been established in the South West of France since 1270, initially as a family wine-growers. Then they becam distillers and have continued in this tradition for 20 generations. They established their headquarters in the Fontpinot Castle at Segonzac.
Today the Frapin estate covers 300 hectares entirely in Grande Champagne, officially listed as Premier Cru de Cognac, of which 200 hectares are planted with the "Ugni-Blanc" grape variety.
The Frapin estate has crumbly, chalky soil, which is identical to the soil in Reims, hence the appellation "Grande Champagne".
Presentation of the vintage :
Quality: exclusively from the Frapin's vineyard. Quality Very Superior Old Pale.
Color: amber gilt.
In mouth: harmonious with an obstinacy of the flavors. Of amber color gilded, this VSOP develops a fruity bouquet stemming from grapes and floral, characteristic of the Big Champagne. A discreet vanilla note resulting from the tannin contained in the oak barrels also appears, where it reaches maturation. The obstinacy of the flavors reflects a équilibe and a maturity already well marked.
