Camus House Presentation
Founded in 1863 in Cognac by Jean-Baptiste Camus, Camus House embodies the very essence of excellence in the art of cognac. Remaining true to its family roots, it has evolved through five generations of the Camus family, passionately preserving tradition while embracing innovation.
Renowned for its exclusive vineyards located in the prestigious Borderies region, Camus House has mastered every aspect of production, ensuring unparalleled quality from grapes to bottle. The house stands out for its artistic talent in blending eaux-de-vie, constantly striving to create unique expressions. Carefully selecting oak barrels for aging imparts distinctive nuances and flavors to its cognacs.
Deeply connected to their Cognac homeland, the five generations of Camus family viticulturists have faithfully preserved the brand's original values. This transmission from father to son guarantees the continuity and development of a unique craftsmanship, where the key words remain soil, vine, and grape.
Beyond the love and respect for the product of the land, Camus culture is based on innovation and the pursuit of exceptional aromatic qualities. Before being businessmen, the Camus define themselves as viticulturists, explorers, and passionate lovers of taste.
Presentation of Cognac Camus Fine Island
Camus Cognac Ile de Ré Fine Island is part of the House's cognac collection, crafted with grapes from the vineyards of Ile de Ré, west of the Cognac region, in an area called Bois Ordinaires. Caressed by the powerful winds of the Atlantic, the grapes cultivated here give rise to unique eaux-de-vie, infused with an island character, balanced by fruity notes and exceptional sweetness.
Fine Island is the youngest of the Camus Cognacs, aged in an extremely humid cellar, stored in lightly toasted oak barrels.
On the nose, it opens with light and fresh notes of iodine, evolving into orchard fruit aromas with a subtle hint of oak.
On the palate, this experience continues with delicate liveliness, subtly wooded presence, and a creamy texture. Notes of dried fruits persist to a deliciously sweet finish, enhanced by a subtle touch of sea salt.
Tasting Mode / Pairing:
Aperitif or digestif.
For the aperitif: on ice for a creamier texture. Citrus peels can be incorporated for a refreshing drink.
Temperature: Very cool for the aperitif. Slightly warm for a digestif.
